Irene is a Mexican-born director now based in London. She enjoys directing  heartfelt stories that challenge audience’s perspectives.

Over the years, Irene has developed a distinctive style through her work with brands like adidas, Rainforest Alliance, Sky Sports, and has worked with international talent such as Jenna Ortega, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Garbiñe Muguruza amongst others.

In Film and TV, Irene enjoys focusing on
whimsical stories about underdogs.  
 She shadowed director Isabelle Sieb on Amazon's show “The Devil’s Hour” starring Peter Capaldi.

Her documentary
Laji’in: Birds Without Homeland won Best Film at Thunderdance Film Festival and was selected for the BAFTA-qualifying Underwire Film Festival and Oaxaca International Film Festival.







Other works include Home For Aged Time Travellers, Never Ending, (winner at Bucharest International Dance Film Festival) Queztal, Lockdown and Our Kingdom.

She has earnt awards from various prestigious festivals and showcases, including Thunderdance Film Festival, Les Femmes Underground Film Festival, and Holly Shorts Film Festival.   Irene has also been a finalist in the Midsummer Murders Directors UK scheme, the Shiny New Directors Showcase, and the Channel 4 stories scheme.

Featured in Badass.gal by the Young Creative Council, Irene is also part of BAFTA Connect and Directors UK.

She is currently developing her debut feature
"Anchors" in collaboration with Markus Meedt.
